Bravo! I am from Germany and know pretty much about my family's history. When a whole generation fails, i.e. not standing up to autocrats, the worst sides of human nature will be on the rise.
Agreed on all counts. Boston had a huge peaceful protest yesterday in the rain. Most of the country is closer to the middle than either of the extremes, we need to remember this and the fact that we all make mistakes - which are never fun to admit. We need those who backed Trump to reflect on what’s happening, put it into context which you do very well Rory and take ownership. It’s hard to contain my anger with those in congress who are not living up to the moment. We saw it as the response by those in power to Jan 6th as opposition melted as cowards made a deal with the devil to keep power. It never should have got to this point but here we are and we must take action in the right ways which your article highlights.
