I would add the fear tariff can affect American citizens as well. I’m holding off on an international trip not because I’m concerned about the other country — but getting back into the US. Who knows what ICE has planned?
I am a 40-year US attorney with a daughter who is a Canadian attorney. We both counsel securing burner phones if crossing the border - either direction. I never considered this before, and it is not Canada customs or RCMP that we fear.
How sad to see the US lose so much talent to this 'fear tariff'. But then again, with the attack on our universities, perhaps there will soon be no such talent to lose.
